the yearly transition from pisces to aries is rarely a comfortable one. it’s that fragile moment that death swallows us whole, whispering that we’ve seen enough, that we’re ready to end this chapter. darkness encloses us, and through wet tumult and psychic shadows, we’re reborn on the other side of ourselves. wide eyed and gasping for air, our hopes become revitalized and a refreshed perspective of our world is forced upon us. we flail for life and once again feel new to our bodies and our surroundings. this is the beginning of the astrological new year. in pisces season, we’re born to die. but when it’s aries’ time, we’re here to be born again.
don’t let the relaxed disposition fool you. if anyone knows the horrifying, tantalizing appeal of chaos, it’s pisces. these past few weeks, we’ve been duped by pisces’ smoke and mirrors and seeming serenity. we’ve all been caught casually floating down the river of least resistance in our lives and we’re suddenly encroaching the great crest of a raging waterfall. pisces waters swirled from calm to calamity in a heartbeat and has left us all fighting for our lives against the overwhelming wave of free-floating anxiety, stress, and fear.
and then along comes aries season. the hallmark sign of the individual. the fearless hero. we’re called to action. we swallow fear and obey instinctual orders. but we also get lost in the trappings of our own ego games and the internal, striving quest to honor the individual. ask yourself this- do we really need to honor the individual right now in these times of world-wide panic? Saturn in Aquarius, who arrives on March 21st, certainly won’t think so.
with Aries it’s easy to put yourself first. it’s easy to say I’m protecting me and mine. but it’s also just as easy to stand up for a cause or to fight for someone who needs your help. to move fearlessly and full of heart. in the most positive sense, Saturn’s upcoming trial run in Aquarius will inch us closer and closer into embracing humanity’s wholeness, perhaps in way we’ve never seen before. if we choose the shadow route, saturn will operate out of fear, which it has a bad tendency of doing, and it can mean barricades and borders rising higher than before and separating us from one other even further. i don’t think’ we’ll let that happen but i don’t think it’ll come easily. we won’t all be holding hands and singing kumabaya just like that. a certain element of destruction is necessary to rebuild.
wield aries promising sword wisely. we don’t need a glorified hero, we need a united front.
